New In the Morning

January 31, 20240 commentsAuthor Sara Beth

Contributing Author:  Sara Beth lives in the Northwest and has spent her entire life dedicated to serving God and studying His word.   She loves to share God’s words of hope and His promises with other women to encourage them in their Christian walk.

The absolutely best NEW something that I appreciate and which sustains me is Lord God’s morning mercies after a troubled night! He manifests a NEW THING in my mind and heart.

  • Psalm 16:7 I will bless the Lord, Who has given me counsel; my reins instruct me in the night seasons.

Our reins (kidneys) are responsible for slowing, stopping, or holding back our actions and thoughts.  God wants His children to be sensitive to their reins, rather than require a bit and bridle:

  • Psalm 32:9 Be ye not as  the horse or mule, which have no understanding; whose mouth must be held with bit and bridle, or they won’t come to you.
  • Isaiah 30:21 Your ears shall hear a word behind you saying,  ”This is the way,  walk in it” whenever you turn to the right or to the left.

The Old

Psalm 73 describes being grieved and miserable because of foolish and wicked people in our life  (past or present, near or far, familiar or strangers in the news, or ourselves). On my mind as I go to bed. Cannot sleep because of my feelings and thoughts. I am grieved. I inwardly moan and groan and ask God how to think and feel about it so that I will have peace and calm and sleep. At some point, unknown to me, I do fall asleep. I haven’t asked God to examine and prove me — to try my reins and my heart, but it seems that He does it anyway.

  • Psalm 26:2 Examine my reins and my heart.
  • Psalm 73:21 Thus my heart was grieved, and I was pricked in my reins.
  • Psalm 73: 23-28 Asking God for help.

The New

  • Psalm 30:5b … weeping may endure for a night, BUT JOY COMES IN THE MORNING!

Lamentations 3:22-26 It is of the Lord’s mercies that we are not consumed, because His compassion’s fail not. THEY ARE NEW EVERY MORNING! GREAT IS THY FAITHFULNESS! The Lord is my portion, says my soul, therefore will I hope in Him. The Lord is good to those that wait for Him — to the soul that seeks Him. It is good that a Child-of-God should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the Lord.

My morning time of instruction is between 2am and 6am. I will awaken with A NEW insight or thought that obviously entered via my reigns via God’s hands. WOW. I am speechless, grateful, strengthened, grounded and clear. Ready to start the day in prayers of Praise and Honor.

  • Isaiah 42:9 Behold, the former things are come to pass, and new things do I declare — I tell you of them before they spring forth.
  • John 13:34 A new commandment I give to you, that ye love one another as I have loved you.
  • 2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if any one be in Christ, they are a new creature. Old things are passed  away — behold, all things are become new.
  • Ephesians 4:24 Put on the new child-of-God, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.
  • Revelation 21:5 And He that sat upon the throne said, “Behold, I make all things new.” And He said to  me, “Write, for these words are true and faithful.”

GREAT IS HIS FAITHFULNESS!
