Benefits of Thankfulness towards Creator God

The benefits of thankfulness towards God are wisdom and fruitfulness, now and forever, which both come from His way of thinking, feeling, and living. Wisdom honors, obeys, thanks, and trusts God. This leads to contentment and godliness (which comprises many aspects of character from courage to zeal). 

Fruitfulness emerges from this wisdom with good works amidst a worthy walk. As we live in the clarity of reality, we gain the fruits of the Kingdom.

  • 2 Corinthians 9:11 You will be enriched in every way for all bountifulness, which produces thanksgiving to  God through us.

Become wise. Gain wisdom. which comes from God’s way of thinking feeling and living. 

  • Colossians 2:6-7 As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him — rooted and built  up in Him, and established in the faith, as ye have been taught — abounding therein with thanksgiving.
  • Proverbs 3:13-14 Happy is the one that finds wisdom, the one that gets understanding. it’s more precious  than rubies. All the things you can desire can’t be compared.
  • Proverbs 8:19 MY fruit is better than gold, yes, than fine gold, and my reward than choice silver.
  • 1 Timothy 6:6 Godliness with contentment is great gain.
  • 2 Corinthian 9:15 Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift!
  • Gain worthy works — fruitfulness
  • Ephesians 4:1 I therefore, … beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called.
  • Colossians 1:10 [read 9-17] Walk worthy, fruitful in every good work AND giving thanks.
  • 1 Thessalonians 2:12 … walk worthy of God, Who called you into His kingdom and glory.
  • 2 Thessalonians 1:11 … … we pray always for you, that God would count you worthy of this calling, and  fulfill all the good pleasure of His goodness, and the work of faith with power.
  • Hebrews 13:15-16 By Him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit  of our lips giving thanks to His name. … for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.
  • Psalm 116:16-17 O LORD … You have loosed my bonds. I will offer to You the sacrifice of thanksgiving, and will call upon Your name.

Results of Giving Creator God Thanks

Honors God and thereby keeps us in His favor. We recognize reality. Our situations hinge upon His actions. Remaining in His good graces enables Him to continue to bless, teach, and help us — there’s no need for us to be dismayed by the future. Our hearts and minds are no longer abandoned to vanity and foolishness.

  • Philippians 4:6-7 Be worried for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication WITH THANKSGIVING let your requests be made known to God, and the Peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
  • Proverbs 3:6 in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths
  • Colossians 3:15 let the PEACE OF GOD RULE IN YOUR HEARTS … and be thankful

Reminds and reinforces how AH-MAZING He is.

The Truth leads to Trust. He loves us. He’s merciful. He’s paying attention; He hears us. We are like little chicks which are not afraid when near papa rooster or mama hen.

  • Psalm 18:3 I will call upon the LORD, Who is worthy to be praised–so shall I be saved from my enemies.
  • Psalm 17:8 Keep me as the apple of Your eye, hide me under the shadow of Your wings.
  • Ruth 2:12 The Lord recompense your work, and a full reward be given to you of the LORD God of Israel,  under Whose wings you have come to trust.
  • Revelation 4:11 YOU ARE WORTHY O LORD TO RECEIVE GLORY AND HONOR AND POWER — for  You have created all things, and for Your pleasure they are and were created.
  • Revelation 7:12 AMEN — BLESSING and GLORY and WISDOM and THANKSGIVING and HONOR and  POWER and MIGHT BE UNTO OUR GOD FOREVER AND EVER. AMEN

Witnesses to other people.  That others may see the reality of Creator God.

  • Psalm 79:13 So we Your people and sheep of Your pasture will give You thanks forever — we will show forth Your praise to all generations.
  • 1 Chronicles 16:8 Give thanks to the LORD, call upon His name, make known His deeds among the 
  • people.
  • Psalm 35:17-18 <rescue me> I will give You thanks in the great congregation — I will praise You among much people.
  • Psalm 30:9,12 What profit is there in my blood when I go down to the pit? Shall the dust praise you? Shall it declare Your truth? … I will give thanks to You forever.
  • Acts 3:10 … they were filled with wonder and amazement at that which had happened to him
  • Psalm 107 (entire) vs. 22 Let them sacrifice the sacrifices of thanksgiving, and declare His works with rejoicing
  • Psalm 69:30 I will praise the name of God with a song, and will magnify Him with thanksgiving.
  • Romans 6:17 GOD be thanked, that ye were servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart …
  • 2 Corinthians 4:13-18 … that the abundant grace might through the thanksgiving of many abound to the  glory of God.

Colossians 3:17 WHATEVER YOU DO … GIVE THANKS to God the Father by Him.
