Finding Peace

Finding Peace in Times of Trouble / Author:  Cynthia Greene

All around us we read news of wars, famine, disease, evil-doing, severe weather damage, job losses, higher prices, political unrest, and looming pandemics. This can bring on uncertainty and fear about the future.

Our mind can start dwelling on worst case scenarios and focus on things that haven’t happened yet. Our fears can grow as we think about how our lives could be impacted, worrying about friends and family and wondering if we will be strong enough to hold fast and endure until the end.

As a follower of God’s Word we can choose to be a person of faith and take courage in knowing that we do not face these challenges alone. As Christians, we have a unique view of the future and what is to come.  Bible prophecy tells us that days of great trials and trouble are coming upon this world and that even God’s people will be severely tested and tried during that time.  God’s Word also tells us about the Second Return of Jesus Christ and that will ultimately usher in true peace, love, joy and harmony that will be spread throughout the Earth.

Reading and meditating on God’s scripture reminds us of:

  • God’s Power.
  • We are not alone when facing trials and hardship.
  • God alone provides our needs.
  • We can trust God to work things out in ways that we cannot even imagine.

His Word can help us face our fears and bring us peace in spite of our current circumstances or troubles that may lie ahead.
